BLUE HERON YOUTH THEATER
New!“Theater with a Twist”
Grades: 4-5
3:30-5 pm
Tuition: $60
Wednesdays, starting Oct 1 (5 wks)
Instructor: Lisa Breen
Recipe for comedy: First choose a story everyone knows. Throw in a
heaping cup of creative license. Mix with improvisation, physical
theater, props and costumes. Add staging, blocking, crazy characters
and a pinch of memorization. Then twist, knead and shape to create
the funniest play ever to perform for an invited audience the last
day. This class is a building block for Teen Stage Company.
Teen Stage Company
“Murder Me Always”
Grades: 6-12
Tues & Thurs, 2:30-5 pm
Begins Tues, Sept. 23
Performances: Nov 21, 22, 23
Tuition: $200 + $25 materials
Instructor: Lisa Breen
Everyone’s a suspect! During a very bad performance of “Murder Me
Always,” an actual murder takes place off stage. The Director is
shot. The “fake” play comes to a screeching halt and a “real” murder
mystery begins. It seems a “Murder Mystery Murderer” is on the loose
and has struck again. Luckily, Detective Joe Mamet (a Raymond
Chandler Pulp–type gumshoe) has staked out the audience and begins
an investigation. Could it be that one of these very bad actors is
really a very bad person? Will this “real“ murder mystery be any
better than the fake one? Is art imitating life? Polish your stage
skills, play with character development, perfect comic timing and
have fun doing it in this fast-paced, funny romp!
